Syntropy Health and Research

The law of Syntropy, the opposite of entropy, represents the process of order and balance of energy. This balance of energy ensures health and well being.  Syntropy Health and Research uses an asset-based approach to address the question “What makes and keeps us healthy”  compared to “what makes us ill”.

RESEARCH AND INITIATIVES

Founder  and Director

My motivation to be a research scientist started when I use to watch my grandfather make medicine and different herbal concoctions to treat people.  I was more amazed that a large portion of the ingredients for his medicine were grown in his garden.  Because of this, I was able to see the connection between our health and our environment at an early age.   I would say that my grandfather, a former sharecropper, factory worker, and with a fifth-grade education, was my first teacher in health   His knowledge and wisdom of the land and our relationship to it was immeasurable.  His compassion nurtured my curiosity and passion to pursue a career in biomedical science.  As a biophysicist, I work at the intersection of science, education, and health.  Though most scientist look at the causes for disease, my research practices include preventative and restorative measures towards health. I have a specific interest in how environmental factors affect the expression of our DNA, a process known as epigenetics.
